HOW IS ROMANIA ORGANISED TO GET ENGAGED IN IPBES

The Biodiversity Directorate of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forest is in charge of the IPBES coordination at national level. Some support is provided by the National Environment Protection Agency.

NOMINATION PROCESS 

Currently, there isn’t a process for the recruitment and nomination of experts in place. However, there are informal dialogues with the interested experts for to evaluate their capacity to act as experts.

CONTRIBUTION TO THE IPBES WORK PROGRAMME 

We provide support to the IPBES activities through the input from different consultations. At national level, the focus is mainly to take into consideration the IPBES assessments in different policies/strategies.

TYPE OF ENGAGEMENT WITH STAKEHOLDERS

There are no particular engagement of the stakeholders, but in the context of different consultations (e.g. drafting the strategies and laws), the IPBES assessment are taken into consideration.
